Overview

Dog & Cat Nutrition Coach is a weight and nutrition companion for your pets. We collect the minimum data needed to run the app and never sell your information.

Data we store

Your pet profiles, weight and BCS history, food logs, meal templates, custom foods, pet profile photos, health observations, milestones, ingredient watchlists, adaptive review snapshots, and trend alerts. When private iCloud is available, this data syncs through your private CloudKit database; otherwise it stays on the device. The widget and Live Activity receive only the active pet's calorie summary and next meal details through an App Group on your device. A paired Apple Watch receives that summary and may send a feeding you explicitly log back to the iPhone using Apple's device-to-device WatchConnectivity service.

What we do not collect

We do not require a developer-operated account or login. We do not collect your name, email, or location. We do not use advertising SDKs and never sell your data.

Food lookup

When you choose online food search or barcode lookup, the search words or barcode are sent to Open Pet Food Facts. Pet profiles, health observations, photos, and private logs are not sent with the request. Community food data can be incomplete, so verify it against the package label.

Household sharing

If you explicitly create or accept an iCloud household invitation, minimal feeding-coordination events (pet name, food name, consumed calories, feeder label, and time) and an activity record (logged or deleted, actor label, and time) are shared with invited participants through CloudKit. The invitation controls read-only or read-write access. Your full private nutrition history and health observations are not copied to the shared household zone.

Subscriptions

Pro and Multi-Pet subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store via StoreKit. Payment and billing are handled by Apple; the app receives verified subscription status. Current prices and any eligible introductory offer are displayed by the App Store for your region before purchase. Multi-Pet describes the number of pet profiles in the app and does not promise Apple subscription Family Sharing.

Camera & photos

Camera access is used only to scan food barcodes. When you pick a nutrition label from your photo library, it is read on your device and only the calorie values are kept — the label image itself is never saved or uploaded. A pet profile photo stays in your private iCloud.

Health disclaimer

Dog & Cat Nutrition Coach is not a medical device and does not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment. Calorie targets are estimates based on published nutrition guidelines and your pet's own data. Always consult your veterinarian for medical decisions.

Your choices

In Settings > Manage & Delete Content, swipe left on any user-created item to delete it. You can export a JSON backup or CSV, delete a pet and its related data, or use Delete All App Data in Settings to remove the in-app profile and records from the active local/private iCloud store. For a shared household, the owner deletes the shared zone and a participant leaves the share when remote deletion succeeds. Data deletion does not cancel a subscription.
